Located in Toronto’s historic Parkdale neighborhood, this project involved a complete gut renovation and 20-foot rear addition to a three-storey heritage-style home. Our clients, a family of five returning to Canada after several years in Chile, wanted to transform the dated property into a warm, functional home that could support the rhythm of family life, including their beloved fur babies.
The design reimagines the house from the ground up, including full underpinning to create a comfortable, finished lower level with ample storage and recreation space. On the main floor, the new addition allowed for a bright, open kitchen and family area that connects seamlessly to the backyard.
Balancing respect for the home’s original character with a fresh, modern sensibility, this renovation brings new life to a classic Parkdale home, offering a thoughtful mix of history, function, and contemporary family living.
